The Port of Brownsville along with Port Isabel Economic Development Corporation, City of South Padre Island, Harlingen International Airport, Cameron County and the City of Brownsville have retained Chuck
Towsley with Maritime Directions and Jay Lewis with Passenger & Shipping Institute to conduct a feasibility study to determine if our area has the potential for attracting the cruise line industry. They would like to meet with key port users, business service providers, relevant governmental agencies and representatives from stakeholder groups (business, environmental and community) to ascertain if this area is suitable and collect data necessary to complete their study. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 17th at 9:00 a.m. in the training room of the Fire Station located across the street from the Brownsville Navigation Administration office, 1000 Foust Road.
